WILLEMSTAD--ENNIA has appointed Evert Jan van der Es as its new executive and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective October 26, 2026, following approval from the Central Bank of Curaçao and St Maarten (CBCS) and the Dutch Central Bank (DNB).

The appointment is intended to strengthen ENNIA’s position as a leading insurer in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom and support the company’s efforts to expand its services to customers.

Van der Es brings more than 25 years of experience in commercial leadership roles. He began his career in banking before moving into senior positions in the financial services industry, working with banks, insurance companies and pension funds. He later served as commercial director and executive team member at large organisations in the Netherlands, and in recent years held CEO and director positions at companies in the Netherlands and Bonaire.

He specialises in change management and holds a Master’s degree in Management Sciences from the Open University.

ENNIA Supervisory Board Chairman Karel Frielink said Van der Es was well suited to the company’s current stage of development. “We are confident that Mr. Van der Es is an excellent fit for the current phase of ENNIA’s development,” Frielink said, pointing to his international experience and collaborative approach.

ENNIA Chief Executive Officer Lesley Ann Brodie said the appointment reflects the company’s ambition to achieve sustainable growth, strengthen customer relationships and continue innovating in the insurance market.

Chief Financial Officer Brian Tjon Ayong also welcomed the appointment, saying commercial growth must go hand in hand with sound financial management and a strong focus on customers.

In his new role, Van der Es will lead efforts to strengthen ENNIA’s commercial operations, with a focus on growth, customer needs, distribution and long-term relationships with intermediaries and business partners.

Van der Es said he looked forward to working with ENNIA’s management team, employees, customers and partners to develop the company further. “For me, connection, active listening, and collaboration are key,” he said.
