Deadline for submitting tax returns is extended

MARIGOT--The Executive Council has extended the deadline for submitting income tax returns for 2018 to June 30, the Collectivité disclosed. The Executive Council voted on May 27 to postpone the income tax return date.

As a postponement may not exceed 30 days, in accordance with the provisions of Article 175 of the General Tax Code of the Collectivité of St. Martin, the Executive Council decided to extend the deadline for reporting from May 31 (initial date) to June 30.

Taxpayers have until June 30 to file their 2018 tax returns with Centre des Finances Publiques. A 10 per cent surcharge will be applied by the state services for late filing of declarations after June 30.

The Conseil de l’Ordre des Experts Comptables, which wanted to have additional time to be able to carry out its clients’ reporting obligations, had made a request to this effect.
