St. Maarten Day of Trees, March 22, was recognized for the eighth year, through cooperation of community service organizations to beautify the country. Tree Day plantings are annually conducted by students of St. Maarten Archaeological Center SIMARC students. This year, Lions Club allowed the tree planting on A.Th. Illidge Road roundabout for which it is responsible.
The African Sausage Tree, donated by Greenfingers, is a rather unique species of a large shade and flowering tree. In photo: Lions Club president and members with SIMARC students and director Jay Haviser with the planted tree.
