ST. EUSTATIUS--A one-year memorial cycle-thon and walkathon is scheduled for Wednesday, September 6, in honour of the late teacher at Gwendoline van Putten secondary school Bas de Haan.
De Haan passed away in a tragic traffic accident in St. Maarten on September 6. He was an avid cyclist and runner, and died doing what he loved to do. He had a profound and positive impact on the lives of everyone he met, and his death came as quite a shock to many persons.
The memorial cycle-thon and walkathon will be organised by Lenaria Brown and Z’Dijah Romney. They said memorial T-shirts will be printed and will be available for sale. They extended their thanks for everyone’s cooperation, and said they hope to honour their “fallen soldier.”
