Brug announces new hourly minimum wage

PHILIPSBURG--Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor VSA Richinel Brug has announced that the hourly minimum wage will increase to XCG 10.93 effective January 1, 2026.

The adjustment follows Article 13, Subsection 1 of the Landsverordening Minimumlonen and is based on the 0.65% rise in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the second quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Department of Statistics.

The Ministry said it remains committed to responsibly aligning the minimum wage with economic indicators and ensuring that annual updates continue to provide incremental support to workers.

Brug said, “This yearly indexation ensures that the minimum wage continues to reflect shifts in the cost of living.” The Ministry said it will continue monitoring economic developments to ensure labour policies remain fair, balanced, and sustainable.
