~ Two new cases ~

PHILIPSBURG--The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labor VSA has reported two new active cases of COVID-19 and thirteen additional recoveries, reducing the total active cases to 70.

  The total number of confirmed cases for St. Maarten is 910.

  Of the active cases, Collective Prevention Services (CPS) is currently monitoring 63 persons who are in home isolation. Seven patients are hospitalised at St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC). The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 remains at 23. 

  The number of persons recovered since the first case surfaced in St. Maarten has increased to 817. There are 224 persons in quarantine based on contact-tracing investigations carried out by CPS of persons who may have been in contact with any of the active cases.

  CPS has tested 1,286 travellers who have arrived at Princess Juliana International Airport, (PJIA) and 5,772 persons throughout the community. CPS assures that as the numbers continue to fluctuate, the department will continue to actively execute its contact-tracing measures.

  VSA Minister Richard Panneflek urges all to remain vigilant and continue to enforce the mandatory regulations implemented.
