Not too hasty

News about Friday’s robbery at RBC in Philipsburg spread like wildfire. Apart from the happy circumstance that nobody was hurt, the fact that the suspect showed no signs of having a weapon captured the attention of many.

A similar case occurred at another bank not too long ago, leading to questions whether the teller did not give in to the demand for money very easily and even suggestions of a possible “inside job.” However, one has to keep in mind that the safety of employees and clients is the most important thing, as RBC’s management also indicated.

What’s more, people should not be too hasty to judge others in that such a situation without having been through it and perhaps genuinely fearing for their life as well as that of others.

The robber apparently didn’t wear a mask either, which may help police track him down making use of surveillance video and eyewitness descriptions. For now, it’s best to avoid speculation and await the investigation that will hopefully provide clarity and bring whoever is responsible to justice.
