BAMBOO HOUSE

What & When: This New Year’s Eve, Bamboo House will be once again hosting an elegant NYE dinner and party. Guests pay $300 for this all-included all-night affair, including an unlimited buffet, open bar, reserved seating, a bottle of Perrier Jouet Champagne, the best fireworks views and live entertainment. Bamboo’s NYE event will take place from 8:00pm until after 2:00am on Sunday, December 31.

Banging bites: And, knowing Bamboo House, this is not your regular buffet. This year, Bamboo House’s new outstanding chef Adrian Salazar has prepared an elegant feast that will captivate the senses. Expect fresh French oysters, miso-braised beef short rib, creative sushi rolls with king crab and Maine lobster and scrumptious scallops among many other delicacies. The best part? It is all available all night long.

Extravagant extras: The live entertainment will no doubt make this event truly unforgettable. Not only will there be mystery internationally-renowned DJs, a spectacular fire show, but the famous Gypsy King musicians Mano and Lito will be returning to Bamboo House to ring in the new year.

It is also important to note that guests can view at least four firework-exhibitions from the restaurant’s stylish terrace. The outside deck will be covered with concert staging for the entertainment and protection from the rain, just in case of a New Year’s shower. More importantly, everyone can enjoy the open bar cocktails, mixed drinks, wine and beer from 8:00pm to after 2:00am.

BOVIN STEAK HOUSE

What & When: Bovin Steak House at the Simpson Bay Resort in Pelican, one of the finest steakhouses in St. Maarten, will be hosting a special four-course NYE dinner in a cosy and chic atmosphere overlooking Kim Sha beach and Simpson Bay. There will be two seatings on December 31: one from 6:00pm to 8:30pm, which will cost $67 per person and another one from 9:00pm to 1:00am for $150 per person.

Banging bites: Guests will start the dinner with an asparagus cream or mushroom soup. This will be followed by a second course of salmon salad cured in Jamaican emulsion or steak tartar. The third course consists of a 12 oz KC steak with potato cake, vegetables and a lemon-garlic sauce or grilled lobster with a sauce of your choice. For dessert, guests will enjoy a mango flambe with coconut ice cream. Vegetarians can ask their waiter for a special dish.

Extravagant extras: Bovin’s NYE dinner includes champagne for a toast and an amazing view of the fireworks in Simpson Bay and Maho.

JULIETTE’S BISTRO

What & When: Juliette’s Bistro at Simpson Bay Resort in Pelican will be offering a four-course French dinner on a beautifully illuminated terrace in the fresh air from 6:00pm on December 31. The cost for Juliette Bistro’s NYE dinner is $72 per person.

Banging bites: For the first course, guests will choose a bouillabaisse or tomato cream soup, followed by a Waldorf or plum salad. For main, guests will tuck into a special duck a l’orange, a creamy octopus risotto or a rack or roasted lamb. Juliette’s Bistro’s NYE dinner will end on a spectacularly sweet note with apple pie or red velvet cake. Vegetarians can ask their waiter for a special dish.

Extravagant extras: Guests will toast to the New Year with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and enjoy a glass of wine or two beers with their meal. Live sax music will give a special touch for the night and everyone will receive 12 grapes for 12 wishes at midnight.

LA PATRONA

What & When: La Patrona at the Simpson Bay Resort in Pelican will once again be organising an unlimited buffet for a special night filled with good food, great service and an amazing view of Kim Sha Beach and Simpson Bay. The NYE dinner buffet takes place on Sunday, December 31 with two seatings: the first seating takes place from 6:00pm to 8:30pm and will cost $67 per person; the second seating is from 9:00pm for $74 per person.

Banging bites: The exclusive buffet will include clam chowder to start; various mains such as red snapper, grilled salmon, New York strip steak, baked chicken with avocado sauce, beef tenderloin and shrimp in wine and spinach sauce; sides such as coconut rice, rosemary roasted potatoes, clinguini carbonara, grilled vegetables, Vichy-style carrots and cheesy Brussels sprouts; salad options include Waldorf salad, hearts of palm, beetroot, and green salad – feel free to mix! Lastly, guests can indulge in a wide variety of desserts, such as fresh fruit tarts, chocolate cake, mango mousse, chocolate mousse and crème brûlée. Vegetarians can ask their waiter for a special dish.

Extravagant extras: La Patrona offers an amazing view of the fireworks in Simpson Bay and Maho and a glass of sparkling wine for a toast. The restaurant will also host an excellent brunch from 11:00am to 3:00pm the next day to combat the hunger and hangover after a big night out. The cost is $35 for adults and $21 for children under 11, and includes one mimosa, beer, or bloody Mary for adults.

What to wear: La Patrona will enforce a Caribbean formal dress code for NYE.

MARY’S BOON

What & When: This Sunday, December 31, Mary’s Boon is hosting a seaside three-course dinner for $80 per person. There will be two seatings: one from 6:00pm and a later one from 9:00pm onwards.

Banging bites: Mary’s Boon’s NYE starters include carrot ginger soup or a greek salad. For entrée, the kitchen will be serving up chicken cordon bleu, filet mignon or lobster tail. For dessert, guests will dig into a delicious tiramisu, crème brûlée or strawberry cheesecake. Vegetarians can call in advance for a special dish.

Extravagant extras: Guests will toast with complimentary glasses of champagne while watching the Maho fireworks. The sounds of the waves crashing on the white sand of Simpson Bay beach will be the the backdrop for this luxurious oceanfront dinner.

What to wear: There is no dress code, but people usually dress up to ring in the New Year, so feel free!

SEAVIEW BEACH HOTEL

What & When: Seaview Beach Hotel will be hosting a New Year’s Eve Party on the Boardwalk. The ocean front three-course dinner buffet will take place from 7:00 to 9:00pm for $69 per person, followed by a party from 9:00pm to 2:00am. There are two party packages: access-only tickets cost $25 and includes clean restrooms, a welcome drink, DJ/entertainment, an amazing fireworks view, a la carte menu and limited seating. For $45 more, guests can enjoy open bar mix drinks, beers, wines, bubbles and non-alcoholic beverages.

Banging bites: Seaview will be serving lots of delicious dishes in their NYE buffet. Think BBQ pork, wild game duck, caper baked salmon, rosemary garlic roasted beef and baked chicken; shiitake mushroom broccoli rapini, truffle mashed potato, parmesan pasta and rice and peas as sides; sushi and lots of salads. For dessert, guests can indulge in rum cake, ponche kuba cake, cheesecake and apple walnut cake.

Extravagant extras: Seaview Beach Hotel offers an unobstructed view of the Great Bay fireworks and live music all night long. The talented Essynce will be performing during dinner from 7:00 to 9:00pm, directly followed by DJ 007 until 2:00am. For a more private party experience, guests can rent cabanas for max. 6 people from 7:00pm to 2:00am, including party access, private bathroom/shower, deluxe seating, firework view, DJ/entertainment and a midnight bottle of champagne.

What to wear: Caribbean classy wear is the way to go for this classy event!

What & When: Step into a night of glamour and celebration at Sonesta Resorts Sint Maarten’s exclusive and adults-only New Year’s Eve Gala from 7:30pm to 1:00am.
