St. Maarten-St. Martin is a melting pot of cultures – so, of course, we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Well, also because we always need an excuse to cut back and enjoy a few more drinks.
This year, St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Monday, but have no fear, Mondays are one of the most rockin’ live music Pub Crawl nights of the week! We have so many casinos – actually, two more just opened – so try one of the St. Patrick’s Day slot machines and test your luck on this lucky day!
For an exciting St. Patrick’s Day experience, head to Simpson Bay, where you’ll find a strip of lively bars, like Tap & Still and Topper’s Restaurant and Bar, hosting St. Patrick’s Day events.
- Topper’s has Green Heineken draft beer and authentic St. Patrick’s Day special of corned beef and cabbage, served with potatoes and carrots for $29.99 with Karaoke starting at 8:00pm.
- Tap & Still has 2 for 1 Jameson drinks from 6:00 to 8:00pm followed by music with Percy Rankin and the Bunfire Band.
- The newest bar on the scene, Kraken Raw Bar has Irish themed specials – the Squall Band will also be rocking out.
- There is a Pub Crawl option through wearesxm.com – If you want to get lucky, then check out the brand new Sunset Princess Casino underneath Lotus Nightclub.
- There is a great Jam Band at Huppel the Pub
- Red Piano has a great band on Mondays named “Church” – so be good lad or lass and go to Church!
For a more relaxed vibe, the French side offers some charming cafés and restaurants in Marigot, where you can enjoy great food with a peaceful setting, away from the more raucous crowds.
While the French side might not have the big St. Patrick’s Day parties of the Dutch side, you can still find festive touches in local eateries. Or head to Orient Bay, where the beach bars often have live music and St. Patrick’s Day specials in a beautiful seaside setting to get a perfect mix of Caribbean warmth and Irish charm.
No matter where you choose to go, St. Maarten’s laid-back yet festive vibe will make your St. Patrick’s Day celebration memorable!
