7th edition of Bart’s Bash!

The Sint Maarten Yacht Club welcomes sailors to sail in the 7th edition of Bart’s Bash!

Bart’s Bash is a global sailing event taking place at hundreds of venues, with thousands of sailors in different classes of boats around the world. Bart’s Bash is one of the key charitable events of Andrew Simpson Foundation (ASF).

This year’s organisers would like to raise funds for scholarships for three of the local kids that were enrolled in the Sailing Summer Camp as a result of the general donations collected at the Annual General Meeting. They would love to keep on sailing, but cannot do so without funding. After Summer Camp, a parent of one of the students commented, “This has been life changing for him”.

They will need to raise US $1,920 to enrol these three kids in a year of lessons.

Sign up to race in Bart’s Bash or sign up to raise funds! If you would like to make a small donation, it will be much appreciated! There is no fee to enter the event; register by clicking on the registration button on their website. Make sure to contact Nils Jannichsen for the available boats at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Some fundraising ideas: getting your boat sponsored; baking cookies and selling them during the day; you may also contact the Yacht Club with you own idea. There will also be a 50/50 raffle after prize giving.

All donations will go towards the sailing scholarships for these kids.

The time schedule is as follows: Start of race not before 2:00pm; Prize giving at 5:00pm; 50/50 Raffle 5:30pm; Bart's Bash is open to Lasers, Laser Pico's, RS Quests and Optimists.
