Kids @ SXM DOET!

Kids @ SXM DOET!

People from all walks of life volunteered in this year’s edition of SXM DOET – a major volunteer day. Kids did not only benefit from the projects, but also took part themselves! Youngsters rolled up their sleeves to spruce up play areas and gardens, help animals, and add colourful paint to schools and community centres, just to name a few types of projects!

Besides making things a little better, volunteering is a great way to gain new skills, learn teamwork, gain confidence, and make new friends! The slogan for the event was “Together we achieve more”. Don’t you agree?

All in all, hundreds of volunteers took part in 62 different community projects in this year’s event, which took place on Friday, May 28, and Saturday, May 29.

SXM DOET is part of a network of events, which takes place all across the Dutch Kingdom. Imagine how many projects were made possible this year in St. Maarten, Saba, Statia, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao and The Netherlands! All DOET events are funded by the Oranje Fonds.
