Volunteering is all about making things better and offering a helping hand. And kids definitely joined in on the fun this past weekend, with DOET – the largest volunteer initiative that takes place all across the Dutch Kingdom!
Kids of different ages joined the adults in rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty – whether it was sprucing up schools and outdoor spaces, painting or other volunteer activities. Volunteers contributed to the projects, while having fun with their family and friends – often making new friends too.
Some of the projects this year were interrupted by rain on Saturday, but those that were interrupted will continue this upcoming weekend! Despite that setback, Doet was an overall success!
Today's print version of The KIDS Herald includes pictures of DOET projects on St. Maarten, Saba and Statia, provided by the respective organisers. St. Maarten pictures (including the one above) were taken by Alexandra Schaede. For more pictures, have an adult help you to visit ‘SXM Doet’, ‘Saba Doet’ and ‘Statia Doet’ on Facebook.
