Police investigating two armed robberies

PHILIPSBURG--The Special Robbery Unit is investigating two armed robberies.

The first took place on Long Wall Road on Sunday at approximately 1:30am. The victim stated that while walking to his car, he was suddenly attacked from behind by two unknown male suspects, one of whom threatened him with a gun and forced him to surrender all of his money. Fearing for his life the victim did as he was told. The suspects then ran away.

The second robbery took place at a residence in the Beacon Hill area on Monday at approximately 11:00pm. Three unknown suspects forced themselves into the residence and threatened the lone victim with a firearm. The suspects then tied up the victim, searched the entire house and fled the scene.

The victim succeeded in freeing herself shortly afterward and informed the police what had taken place.
