1. What is the Lighted Parade?

The Lighted Parade is a night parade whereby revellers, dressed in lighted shirts, party through the streets of Philipsburg to the tunes of some of the most internationally acclaimed Soca artistes. This year’s Lighted Parade is themed “The Speed of Light”.

  1. How long has the Lighted Parade been running?

This is the eighth year for the Lighted Parade.

  1. How does a person get to participate?

Access to the parade comes by purchasing a ticket in the form of a T-shirt and battery operated lights. This “ticket” grants you access to any band of your choice, and unlimited drinks along the parade route.

  1. What time does it start and end?

The parade officially starts at 8:00pm on Friday, July 5, at the Festival Village. The parade will do the loop of Philipsburg and return to the Village where the after-party will go until 3:00 am.

  1. What route will the parade take?

The route will start at the Festival Village, down Pondfill, up Front Street, to the Salt Pickers Roundabout and back to the Festival Village.

  1. Who will be performing?

There will be many performers for the Lighted Parade: Famer Nappy out of Trinidad and Tobago, Triple K out of Dominica, Red Eye Crew out of St. Maarten, King James, DJ Outkast and DJ Dankers from Guadeloupe.

  1. Will there be an after-party?

Yes!!!! All roads lead to the Festival Village for the after-party. Revellers can continue to party to the music of Triple K, who will continue with the music truck into the Village. Drinks and food will be on sale.

  1. Who are the sponsors that have contributed to making this event possible?

Thanks to corporate citizens, such as TELEM, FUNMILES, Caribbean Liquors and Tobacco, and Prime Distributors on behalf of Gillette VENUS, we are able to produce this high level, high energy event.

Rio Productions recently entered into an agreement with Kalaboom Events, to incorporate the Lighted Parade 2019 into the summer showdown. For this year’s edition, participants can expect nothing less than high energetic stage performances, a massive night parade through the streets of Philipsburg (hosted by Rio Productions), premium parties at nightclubs, and the most anticipated beach parties of the year on the Dutch and French sides of the island, featuring popular artistes from the Caribbean region.
