Final event takes place in Sint Maarten

The water is calm. The wind whips past your face as your vessel slices through the water on the wings of the invisible forces of nature – or at least that’s how it will be for the sailors taking part in one of the most exciting races around.

St. Maarten, IGY Marinas, Yacht Club Isle del Sol, International Liquors and Heineken have united to bring you the 2nd Annual SXM Poker Run this Saturday, August 19! This is a sister event of the legendary BVI Poker Run.

All participants will follow a pre-designated route at sea where they pick up a playing card at each stop. The three best hands will win up to $20,000 in cash and prizes.

The route for the final event on Sint Maarten starts at IGY Yacht Club at Isle De Sol. Once the race starts, the first stop is Friars Bay Beach Café, second the Lolos at Grand Case, the third Sandy Ground Road Bay in Anguilla, the fourth at Rendezvous Bay in Anguilla and then participants will end the day once again at IGY Yacht Club at Isle De Sol.

As the final event in the Caribbean Triple Crown Poker Run series, the St. Maarten Poker Run will be the scene for the grand finale event and awards ceremony, and the birthplace of the IGY Cup award.

As the newest poker run event in the Caribbean, the St. Maarten Poker Run has quickly become an exciting, much-anticipated event for local and international boaters. With over 40 participating boats and 500 spectators in 2016, the event is expected to grow in participation and attendance by 300% for the 2017 run.

To make sure the festivities keep going, Fat Turtle Bar and Restaurant located at Isle De Sol will be hosting Poker Run parties tomorrow and Saturday. The Captains pre-Party tomorrow, August 18, from 7:00pm till 1:00am will feature DJ Kornwall. Head to Fat Turtle on Saturday, August 19, for a HUGE Poker Run Pool Party featuring DJ Kornwall and Deej Maestro starting at 11:00am and ending at 11:00pm!

Everyone is invited to attend and participate, whether you purchase a hand or not, own a boat or not, this event is open to all to enjoy. To find out more, surf to http://caribbeanpokerrun.com/sxm/
